Rita Lin

I study as a fourth-year student at the University of Toronto Scarborough, doing the specialist program in Arts Management. I have huge interests in studio arts and have completed two photography projects in VPSC56 Studio Practice course this semester. I was doing an internship as a TV show director in Shanghai in the past few months, so Shanghai has become the place that inspired me a lot. I have a lot of feelings and emotions about this “magic city,” so I decided to record the experience and express my feelings in a serious of photography.

Mahin Fatima

Mahin is an artist is currently studying at the University of Toronto to complete her double major in Psychology and Studio Arts.  She loves experimenting with new materials when creating her artworks which she has done in her current piece called “Connections”. Overall, as an artist she sees herself as someone who loves to take on challenges and learn something new.

Taylor is in her fourth-year study in New Media and Studio art Program at UTSC. She is interested in Interface Design and Film Production. Taylor intends to experiment more on photography and graphic design and wish to work as an Interface Designer in the future.

QIFENG ZHONG

I am a new media major at the University of Toronto. Minor is a senior in studio art and media. I was born on September 28, 1998, in China. I have participated in film production (class assignment) many times, painting, photography, sound editing, etc. I am currently shooting TikTok videos for car companies and managing social media accounts. I like photography very much, especially night scenes. At the same time, I have unique insights into various things. My favorite sentence is "Stay hungry stay foolish" from Steve Jobs.

Alex Au

Alex Au is a fourth-year student that studies Mental health and exploring art by photography at the University of Toronto Scarborough. He likes to explore the beauty of nature and express his emotions through his photographs. He is constantly looking for new inspiration and willing to learn.

Christiana

Christiana is a digital artist based in Toronto. She is currently doing an undergraduate in media studies and studio art at the University of Toronto. Her work can be described as surreal and adventurous. Her work often uses rich and vibrant colors. Her color palette takes inspiration from anime, cartoons, and African wax print fabric.The subject of her work is often black bodies in nature and space. Common themes in her work are escapism, fantasy, and the healing properties of nature.  She invites her audience to enter into her mind and to see the world through her eyes. She hopes to reach people who also feel out of place and looking for a home. ​​​​​​​

Erin Lam

Erin Lam is a Toronto-born, Chinese Canadian artist who practices in visual and performing arts. Ever since she was young, Erin pursued in a variety of different art practices such as drawing, painting, cooking, music, and dance. Erin uses her diverse background to create storytelling art pieces in concert with movement and filmmaking. Erin is in her third year of studies at the University of Toronto Scarborough, double majoring in Studio Art and Arts and Media Management. Once graduated, Erin hopes to pursue her passion in dance and continue her art practices. On her own time, Erin enjoys creating choreography incorporating experimental freestyling elements. As this heavily influences Erin's conceptual art style, she seeks to expand on her current artistic goals with a variety of future projects.

Jingyi Gao

My name is Jingyi Gao and my preferred pronouns are she/her. I am myself from Beijing, where I also currently live, and thus Chinese culture is something I have been deeply yet passively immersed in, though my whole life. Having spent a long time studying in Canada, I have only recently started taking more active interest in my own culture. I am a visual multimedia artist and photographer and would love to explore more themes in my work that pertain to my personal and cultural identity, drawing upon the work of many other artists influential in the cultural Asian sphere, rather than following more Western influences.

Mortasha Chan

Mortasha Chan is an artist who is in her fourth year at the University of Toronto Scarborough, studying Studio Art and Human Biology. Her practice concentrates on digital media, such as photographs and sound. Art is a form of self-expression for Mortasha. “Distortion” is one of her works that focuses on how social media created a beauty standard that is distorted. Mortasha also loves travelling and exploring new places. She has been discovering places in the city and trying to do something new with art. While she was visiting the places, she captured moments that inspired her with her camera. “Behind the Tile” is a series of photographs that she took during her journey.

Mandy Li

Mandy Li is a multimedia artist from Toronto, practicing mainly in digital art, painting, and watercolour. She is attending the University of Toronto Scarborough, and studying in the programs of Linguistics and Studio Arts. Much of her art is influenced by the diverse Western art culture. With learning about the art history and evolution, she is passionate about expanding Chinese cultural art to the global market.

Napao, Michael Anthony Jr

Michael Anthony Jr Napao, better known as Mikey, is an artist with a keen interest in digital art, camera based arts, and hip-hop choreography. Mikey’s work often finds itself in the digital realm whether it be documentation for an event or a short narrative expressed in video, photo or digital art. Mikey’s work is often inspired by the opportunity to play with equipment or techniques he has recently learned, whether from school or extracurriculars. From time to time you may find him participating in dance classes in various studios around Toronto. Mikey was born in Scarborough, Ontario and is currently studying in the Arts Management Specialist Program at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus with a minor Studio art. He likes to try and involve himself every year with a different school group, and has to date worked with/in ACMSA, Artsideout, ACM Engage, ACM media crew, and twelve65 Dance team.

LIYING BAI

Liying Bai is a multi-media artist born in Sichuan, China. She studies at the University of Toronto, with a double major in Studio Art and Environmental Studies. She is practicing in photography, painting, digital arts, and sculpture.

Xitong Chen

My name is Xintong (Ann) Chen. I was born in China and studied majors in Studio art, minor Economics for Management Studies, Media Studies at the University of Toronto Scarborough. I came to Canada to study when I was 16 and spent two years in Hamilton to finish high school. I usually like to record life through photography and like to travel to different places and shoot scenery. My inspiration comes from my life. Most of my works reflect some details of life and enjoy the process of creation. Most of the recent photography works reflect the content related to life. For example, the recent work "Qiulan Yao" records some of my grandmother's daily life and expresses some stories in the simple life of the elderly.

Yiwen Gong

Yiwen Gong is a student who majors in New media at the University of Scarborough. She was born and raised in China and she is currently working in the area of overseas e-commerce. She enjoys creating visual and digital artworks, as well as videos. She created the sculpture Fast Food (2021) which revealed the overdose of medicine and the documentary Leader of the flock (2020) which unfolded the real nomadic life.
