Connections
Medium: Mixed Media
Size: 4 12 x 12 canvases

The following artwork is an abstract piece exploring the concept of texture using different materials in four different colors. This artwork uses a variety of different mediums such as paint, thread, buttons, foil paper, textured tape, tissue paper, glue, gesso, construction paper, modeling paste, and watercolors. I created multiple layers that were connected to one another resulting in a unified piece. All four canvases are linked to one another in the sense that where one part of the artwork ends on the canvas, it is continued onto the next resulting in this interconnection between the artworks, hence the name “Connections”.
Camouflage
Medium: Knitting
Size: 30 x 15

For the following artwork I was inspired by sindhi ralli quilts and created my own sindhi ralli integrating my own design using yarn. This is the handmade version in which I used different textured yarn to create each panel, combining the different textures onto one panel. The different textured yarns when combined seem camouflaged making the panels seem like a whole rather than separate sections. This handmade version evokes the feeling of warmth, comfort, and home.
Size: 11 x 9
